The speed ranges for each Hub Motor model listed are based upon a standard 26 inch wheel. When you increase the diameter of the wheel, say to a 700c or 29 inch rim, then your top speed increases, but you give up the torque. When you go down in size to a 24 inch, 20 inch or a 16 inch wheel, 2 things happen. First your maximum speed will go down and secondly your torque level will rise.
